This limited edition of Do Son Eau de Toilette honours the craftsmanship of Vietnam. The sillage, as ever, blends tuberose with a sea breeze. A small format that invites us to escape the everyday. On the bottle, the illustration takes on the cinnabar red hue typical of traditional Vietnamese lacquer, while the box is a subtle evocation of the art of basketwork.
Yves Coueslant, one of the founders of the Maison, discovered the perfume of tuberoses as a child spending his summers in the Vietnamese village of Do Son.
In the pagoda built by his father, the sea breeze would bring to him the faintly spicy scents of tuberose.
This flower, which his mother so adored, was left in the temples as an offering, wrapped in canna leaves along with jasmine and ylang-ylang.
Such is the story of the Do Son perfume. No wonder one drop is enough to revive memories and rouse the imagination.
