Now although we may not know what song was played as the newlywed’s first dance, or the details of their wedding vows, but what was revealed was how the Royal wedding was scented. The Luxury Parisian Fragrance House – Diptyque, which was famous for exquisite scented candles and room sprays, has revealed that they were responsible for scenting the space in St George’s Chapel for the wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
Diptyque’s fresh spring floral fragrances were personally chosen by The Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Candles and room sprays helped scent the spaces where Their Royal Highnesses prepared for their special day, and the fragrances were also used to enhance the beautiful surroundings of the chapel
“We are extremely proud to have been chosen to scent such an important moment for Their Royal Highnesses, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex,” said FabienneMauny, Global Managing Director of Diptyque.
“We were touched to have been part of such a significant day, made more special as one of our founders, Desmond Knox Leet, was British. We hope the fragrance contributed to such a memorable day.”

1963 saw wax and perfume blend for the first time when diptyque introduced its first set of three scented candles, Aubépine, Thé, Cannelle (Hawthorne, Tea, Cinnamon).
Its know-how is unique, entirely manual, and each of the nine steps of production are carefully studied to result in excellence. We carefully select our mineral and plant waxes.
A wax-maker assesses each mixture and customizes the mas needed. We only use the best candle wicks. Just like our Eau de Toilette, each scent has been carefully created with the utmost quality in mind.
Each candle is a creation in its own right. The candles are available in a rare choice of around fifty scents, some exclusively available in the boutique, inspired by a childhood memory, nature journeys. Lit alone or together, they provide an infinite variety of pleasure.
A luxury craft par excellence.
Enigmatic and beguiling, this heady flower deploys its captivating sensuality at dusk.
Like a tender, freshly picked bouquet, it pays homage to the queen of flowers.
Related to the eau de toilette Philosykos, it intensifies the tree’s qualities: the warmth of the bark, the freshness of the leaves and the milky sap of its fruit.
Diptyque has nurtured its own ritual to unleash the scents of its candles: The wax is tapped from the glass on a cushion to release the fragrance. That is how to catch a glimpse of the fragrance that the candle will set free once you light it.
Precautions & Instructions
Here are a few tips to enjoy your scented candle safely, for a long time, without altering its quality (this candle will burn for approximately 60 hours):
- Let it burn for at least one hour to let the wicks soak up the paraffin and burn properly. Doing this will form a homogeneous melting pool and avoid the wax hollowing out later on.
- Regularly re-center and trim the wicks with special wick-trimmer once you blow them out.
diptyque Scented Candles are priced at RM189 (70g), RM299 (190g), RM409 (300g), large indoor & outdoor candle at RM1799.00 (1.5kg)
